Dear parishioners,
I can’t believe that August 18 has come and gone and so has my open heart surgery. My mind is still not 100% clear of the effects of the anesthesia and the hospital stay, and that is to be expected. I want to express to all of you, my sincere and deepest appreciation for all of your prayers, rosaries, novena, cards, and gifts for me, beginning well before the surgery and continuing on until now. I have to wait four weeks from the surgery before I can drive, and an exact date on my return to St. Peter‘s and parish life is still not definite. I hope that my return is sooner rather than later. I’m looking forward to seeing all of you and returning to what was before August 18. Physically I’m fine, emotionally and mentally, it may take a little more time to adjust back to the Reserve setting after being in Baton Rouge for a time. Thank you all again and God bless you. Thank you all also, for adjusting to the revised Mass schedules and the visiting/ substituting priests who have graciously helped out in my absence. Looking forward to seeing you all soon!
